A superbowl idea

I think all professional athletes should donate 10% of their yearly salaries to teachers.

Football
53 players per team, 32 teams, 53 *32 = 1696
Average Salary = 1.4 million (most do make less)
10% of 1.4 million is 140,000
1696*140,000 = $327,440,000 for teachers from NFL players

Baseball
25 players per team, 30 teams, 25*30 = 750
Average Salary= 2.8 million
750*280,000 = $210,000,000 for teachers from MLB players

Basketball
About 430 players in the NBA
Average Salary = 2.5 million
430*250,000 = $107,500,000 for teachers from NBA players

Hockey
About 940 players in the NHL
Average Salary= 1.9 Millin
940*190,000= $178,600,000$ for teachers from the NHL

Total from professional athletes from these four sports for teachers:

$823,540,000

There are about 772,000 secondary teachers (not including preschool and kindegarten teachers, sorry) in the United States.

$823,540,000/772,000 teachers = 1067 dollars per teacher

not much, but I am sure teachers wouldn't mind an extra grand
