This past weekend Ma and Pa Erlewine came and visited us in Missouri. We got to try some good eateries in Jeff City including the Prison Brewery, with brews similar to Grand Rapid's Founders. We toured the sprawling Lake of the Ozarks and enjoyed a hike through an oak-hickory forest. We saw Birdfoot Violets and Rue Anemones. It was a great weekend and we had at least one sunny day to enjoy the green and the blooming. The first picture is of the flowers of Ceris canadensis, or Redbud, which catches the eye along the highway or in our backyard!
