Memorial day

I grew up pretending I was in the army. Protecting our country, my best friend and I took on whole armies with our toy guns and knives - war heroes. As a grown up, I never entered the service and can't understand the full reality of war.

A day to reflect and feel...

emotions of contempt for the war mongers

emotions of sorrow and compassion for the lives destroyed

emotions of concern for the desensitized

emotions of solemn respect for service leading to death

emotions of thanks for the many veterans
