Dr. Collins

I just read that this past Friday, Dr. Francis Collins, was appointed and confirmed as director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

My attention was captured when I saw this. Last year, I heard an interview with Dr. Collins on NPR (Check the interview out sometime ); since then I have considered him to be someone who understands and is able to eloquently explain the same compatibility of faith and evolution (that following Jesus doesn't conflict with teaching that the process of evolution is the best explanation of how the natural came to be as it is, and vice-versa) that I profess. This news was encouraging as I was thinking just this past week about writing Dr. Collins to let him know my appreciation of his voice and ask for words of wisdom for working in the scientific community. I found that he started an organization called BioLogos. I am going to investigate the BioLogos website; if you want to as well, click here.

On another note, my ladies have been gone for a week... who wouldn't miss waking up to this:

(p.s. Ayla does (or will) sleep in her cradle/crib most of the time)
